Examination
Homa Bay County Commissioner Moses Lilan has urged centre managers to uphold the integrity of the ongoing Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) as candidates commenced their exams today.
The CC warned that any centre manager who would be found violating the regulations of the examination would face dire consequences. “I urge everyone involved in the administration of KPSEA exams to uphold the integrity of the examination and anyone who will be intent on bringing in any disrepute in the course of the ongoing examination will face the consequences,” he said.
The examination which started early this morning saw a total of 35, 526 candidates comprising 18,273 boys and 17, 253 girls sitting for it. “So far, we have not received any information on the possibility of a candidate missing the examination except for a few cases who are deceased,” he noted.
Lilan said the examination materials were dispatched without any hitch early Monday morning to reach the 877 examination centers across the county on time. He informed that all the centres have been secured and that the examination was being conducted within a multi-agency context.
The CC was hopeful that nothing untoward would be experienced during this examination period and called upon all the examination managers, the invigilators and the candidates to be very cautious while undertaking the national examinations. “We expect that this examination will be conducted according to the regulations laid down by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and we will be very vigilant to ensure it is taken with the integrity that it deserves,” he said.
