Customer service
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Eddyson Nyale has urged applicants who applied for various documents at the Eldoret Huduma centre to collect their unclaimed documents.
Speaking while inaugurating this year’s Customer Service Week at the centre, Dr Nyale said they should collect the documents as soon as they are notified to avoid accumulation at the centre. The Administrator noted that vital documents such as IDs, birth certificates and driving licenses are lying uncollected at the centre.
“Currently we have 5551 IDs,6000driving licenses and 260 birth certificates uncollected at the Centre. The government has spent huge amount of money in the processing of the documents and should not be left uncollected,” he said The County Commissioner attributed the high number of uncollected documents to the strategic position of the city that attracts people from various parts to apply the documents in the area.
“Eldoret city being strategically situated attracts a high number of people who come to for the important documents leading to a high accumulation at the Centre,” said Dr Nyale He appreciated the employees at the centre for their exemplary service and teamwork encouraging them to continue with the same spirit.
The administrator encouraged the citizens to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA) saying that those registered with National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) should switch to SHA, as it aims to improve health services in the country. He announced that the government had taken the initiative to introduce a customer desk at the Huduma centres to assist citizens in the transition from NHIF to SHA.
Nyale noted that as more services will be offered at the Huduma center the employees should be ready for the expansion and adjust to the changes that will take place as they aim at enhancing the citizen’s experience. “The national government seeks to provide enough space and furniture to accommodate more service providers,” said Nyale.
Nyale reminded the citizens that the post office is still offering services and urged them to use it to send parcels both locally and internationally. Eldoret Huduma Centre Manager, Ruben Ogeda, expressed that this year’s theme is “Above and Beyond” noting that they are happy to showcase their commitment to providing excellent customer service.
“We serve our customers in a special way and under this Huduma Centre, we offer more than 20 services as well as serve more than one 1,500 customers on a daily basis,” said Ogeda. He stated that the center has continued to make efforts to ensure that its customers receive great service by putting them at the core of their operation.
