Bomet County Commissioner (CC), Dr Omar Ahmed, is leading a multi-Agency team in inspecting development projects in the County ahead of Presidential visit, scheduled for Saturday, this week.
Dr. Omar assured the residents of an all-inclusive development growth, saying the Government is upgrading roads and launching new projects for the benefit of the region.
“The government is prioritizing road construction and upgrading, to make all parts of the County accessible, promoting rapid development and inclusive economic growth,” he said.
The CC pointed out that the Kenya Kwanza’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), blueprint prioritizes counties, for revitalizing value chains and boosting livelihoods.
Dr, Omar noted that sound transport infrastructure, links producers and markets, while efficient road networks facilitate government services.
The CC said President William Ruto during his much-awaited tour, will launch and preside over the groundbreaking and stone laying of major projects in Bomet County, as part of his busy project tour of the South Rift Region.
President Ruto will have a busy diary launching a series of projects aimed at delivering the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), whose overriding goal is to positively impact the lives of the people of Bomet County.
The President who is making his third working tour of the County, will inspect the progress of the Affordable Housing Project in Bomet Central Sub- County, among other key projects in the County.
According to the County Housing Officer, Isiah Kaguchia, the construction of 250 house units have started shaping up, the project which stands at 27 percent completion, has employed more than 200 youths from the community.
“The Affordable Housing project in Bomet is at 27 percent completion costing Sh 505 million, featuring three, two, and studio-type houses,” explained Kaguchia.
The project, set to be completed within 12 months, aims to create a new generation of homeowners, under the Affordable Housing Programme.
Other projects in the Head of the State’s itinerary include the Upgrade of Bomet town roads, the carpeting of Bomet University Road, upgrading of Kapkwen-Airstrip Road, and Kyogony-Sigor -Kapkesosio road.
The President will also lay foundation stones to the Sh 100 million Mulot and Chebunyo Markets, both funded by the National government.
