Over 30 youth in Butere Sub County have joined the Ajira digital platform to be empowered on ways to access online jobs. According to the trainer Kevin Omusi, the platform empowers and offers the youth digital opportunities across the Country.
He said the project launched in 2020 has improved the livelihoods of the youth who use the skills they have gained to pursue online jobs. “The platform is very transformative and has enhanced the livelihoods of many youths particularly in the region and the Country,” he said.
Omusi said through a series of awareness about the program more youth have shown interest in the domains of digital opportunities. He added the move underscores the contribution to empowering trainees with essential ICT skills to earn substantial income through freelancing opportunities.
Omusi noted that many participants are high school graduates who want to get the skills and further pursue growing careers in computer-related fields. He said they aim to recruit additional youth and provide them with opportunities for online learning and job-seeking.
Omusi said the trainees are awarded certificates upon completion of their courses.
The success story of the Butere sub-county serves as a testament to the transformative potential of the Ajira Digital platform in fostering economic empowerment and opportunities for youth across the Country.
