Their triumph was confirmed in a thrilling encounter against Green Commandos, where APS Bomet emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win at Kakamega High School grounds last Sunday.
The hard-fought victory not only secured the team the Division One Zone B title for the 2023/24 season but also earned them a ticket to the highly competitive NSL.The winning goal came courtesy of APS defender Dominic Kirui, who expertly headed home a well-taken free-kick just yards from the box, igniting jubilant celebrations among the team’s technical bench and supporters.
Despite attempts by Green Commandos to alter the momentum of the game by bolstering their defence, APS Bomet remained relentless in their pursuit of further goals. The final whistle from the centre referee sparked scenes of jubilation among traveling fans, as APS Bomet administrators and supporters alike rejoiced at the team’s achievement.
Tears of joy flowed freely as Team CEO Chief Inspector Rose Chemutai joined in the celebrations, expressing her delight at seeing the team’s hard work and discipline culminate in such success.
