Service interruptions caused by power outage, will be a thing of the past at Langa Langa and Bondeni Sub County Hospitals in Nakuru County after the two facilities today received 60KVA backup generators valued at Sh7.5 million each.

The county Director for Health Dr Joy Mugambi said the generators are now on-site ready for installation to serve as the facilities’ power backups, ensuring 24-hour services for the community. The uninterrupted power supply gives the two facilities the capacity for storage of medicines to support critical and emergency care, including the preterm and underweight infants who are kept in incubators.

She noted that once the generators are fitted and connected it will be a significant win for the surrounding community, promising improved health services and operational efficiency within the hospitals.

Additionally, Dr Mugambi said the county was committed to advancing health services in Nakuru County as exemplified through various initiatives across the county to ensure that comprehensive health services are as close as possible to the residents.

In the recent past power outages have been a common feature throughout the country and there are times when the entire nation has been in total darkness, albeit for a few hours.
