Bandari FC played to a goalless draw against Murang’a Seal in an FKF Premier League match held at KPA Sports Club Stadium on Saturday. Despite a spirited display from both sides, neither team managed to find the back of the net, settling for a single-point share of the spoils.
The match began with Bandari dominating possession and creating several scoring opportunities. However, Murang’a Seal’s defence held firm, denying the Dockers any clear-cut chances to break the deadlock. The visitors looked dangerous on the counterattack but were unable to convert their chances into goals.
One of the standout moments came in the first half 21st minute when Bandari forward William Wadri crossed the ball from the flank to Beja Nyamawi, who had a clear chance but shot wide. Three minutes later, Muranga was awarded a free kick in a promising range which was taken by former Bandari player, Joe Waithira, but the former Docker failed to convert.
At the start of the second half, Bandari’s young star Izzadin Ramadhan dribbled past two Seal defenders but shot wide. Shariff Majabe of Bandari received a red card in the 90th minute of the game due to foul play and forced Bandari to finish the game with only 10 players.
On the stroke of full time, Kiplangat John had the opportunity of winning the match for Muranga who attempted a quick shot but was saved by Bandari keeper Bryne Omondi. Speaking after the game, Bandari’s Coach, Ken Odhiambo expressed his frustration, stating that it was the worst performance he had seen from his players.
“Am so mad with one point, we were at home and committed many mistakes so we should amend the mistakes we need to improve passing and dribbling,” stated Odhiambo. He added that the international break affected the chemistry of the team, and they could not play at their usual level.
Muranga Seal Coach, Abdallah Juma, was happy with the point won by his team. “I liked the spirited fight by my players and when we knew that we would be playing our match at KPA instead of Sport Club, we knew we would be able to manage them,” said Juma. He also congratulated his goalkeeper, Ambuka Morgan for getting his first clean sheet of the season and he believes it will motivate the entire team.
The draw keeps Bandari in fourth place on the league table with 8 points and will now need to turn their attention to their upcoming fixture against Talanta FC.
