Body of a businessman retrieved from Sagana river

A multi-agency unit managed to retrieve the body of a Sagana businessman from Sagana River.

The body of Samuel Kagwanja wa Chakaka was fished out by the divers ending a week of search mounted by units led by Kenya Coast Guards and KDF.

In the past one week, business friends and relatives had camped at the riverbank as the divers and the community helped in the search for the body.

The operation was coordinated by Captain Ediwn Kaunga Muthomi, and Susan Mtakai.  The body was found two kilometres from the scene where it is alleged his vehicle plunged into the river.

The units will be working towards retrieval of the vehicle wreckage from the water.

At Sagana town, a sentry at the nearby National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) reported at Sagana Police Station after he spotted the vehicle plunging into the river.

The vehicle was coming from Murang’a town destined to the nearby Sagana.
