Amagoro zonal games for primary and junior secondary sports have witnessed no card given by the referees. The zonal games were played at ACK Kamuriai primary as the host and Korisai primary and Achia secondary as other playgrounds with no card for both primary games and junior secondary games registered in the officiating books.
Emojong, chair Amagoro zone, says that it shows their level of discipline in and out of the field and expects the trend continues from his proceeding teams for Subcounty competitions.
“A disciplined athlete can’t be booked and thanks to the teachers for maintaining discipline among their teams,” Emojong said. JSS games saw Amagoro Comprehensive Walk with brace trophies in Netball girls and Basketball girls making records since the onset of the JSS games.
Teams proceeding for Subcounty levels are Onyunyur boys and Kocholia girls in Volleyball, Malaba boys and Amagoro girls in Basketball, Achunet girls and Kamolo boys in Soccer and Amagoro Comprehensive in Netball girls. The Subcounty games will be played next week, Tuesday 16th at ACK Katakwa primary where a team to represent the subcounty in the Country games at Chakol will be decided.
The day witnessed almost all games decided on penalty shootouts for the primary games unlike the JSS where winners were decided on normal time. However, the chair Amagoro zone has urged the ministry to ensure medical equipment are available like ambulances and first aid drugs during the games as two casual injuries were reported with several minor injuries in the course of the day.
“Next time let’s make sure that nurses are near to help nurse the injuries rather than leaving the burden to the innocent parents and guardians, ” Emojong said.
The KePSHA chair, Elkanah Achia, who flagged the day, said that scouts have been around and as a department they will help the scouted pupils and students to reach the merited levels asking parents not to hold back the potential and upcoming talents in the society.
“The talents are here with us and we can’t let go as we’ll support all the scouted athletes wherever our hands can scratch to their success, ” Achia said. The selected players to represent Amagoro zone in primary games will camp at Malaba Township Primary on Monday 15th before traveling for the subcounty competition the following day.
