Kiambu CECM for Youth Affairs, Sports and Communication, Ali Osman has issued boots to the Butterfly Football Club during their training ground at Spinners Boys Secondary School.
The Minister visited the team ahead of the eagerly awaited Wamatangi Football Champions Cup Tournament, scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 27 at Kirigiti International Stadium. During his visit, Osman encouraged and motivated the team as well as challenging them to play better during their ‘A’ game in their upcoming match against Githunguri Seniors Football Club this Sunday.
He said distributing the soccer boots to all the teams that will participate in the tournament is a commitment and pledge that he made in July during a presentation of 11 football boots to representatives of Githunguri FC at his office. The Butterfly FC Head Coach, Anuar Sadaat, while speaking about his team’s preparedness, noted that they are ready to face their opponents in the final match and believes his team will emerge as the winners
The head coach further congratulated and thanked Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, for launching the tournament saying his stewardship has brought numerous benefits to the youth as a form of entertainment. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Governor Kimani Wamatangi for his remarkable contribution to sports development and for his unwavering support of Kiambu’s youth, particularly in advancing sports programs,” Sadaat stated.
