Chinese nabbed in gold mines sites in Migori

An operation to ensure compliance in the mining sector led to the arrest of  31 Chinese nationals in Migori county.

The operation led by Principal Secretary in Mining  Mr Elijah Mwangi in Nyatike  and Rongo sub counties this week discovered several illegal gold mines, operated by the Chinese nationals.

Mwangi ordered the immediate closure of the mines where two Kenyans were arrested. The PS came face to face with the foreigners in the multimillion gold mining expedition in the villages in Kitere, Kehancha,  and Macalder.

” The foreigners were arrested for being in the country illegally and engaging illegally in gold mining,” said the PS adding that those without the papers will be deported back to their country.

Mwangi said the country has been losing revenue following the illegal deals perfected by the foreigners.

” Am in a country tour to ensure loopholes used to deny the government’s revenue are sealed,” said the PS.

Those arrested are Ma Wendin,Min Yuping,Huang Zutong,Zhou Zhong Yang,Huang Yuming,Huang Yaoqun,Huang Zuzhao,Fredrick  Saranga,Wycliffe Kamau Wanyonyi,Sun Yung,Lui Wang,Sanxin Wang,Qu Heng Song,Wng Yun GUI,Znao Shunang, Duan Liuxun,Yang Haijiau,Chen Kong Yun, Li Jun hai, Lin Jin Mei,Wfiug Qiol,Cheng Lin,Huxin Ming,Deng Bin,Cao Quyonli,Wang Yuhiai, Ma Jun,Xiao Shunlin,Song Peng,Chen Wen and Li Chun Shen.
