Coach names squad for 2025 AFCON Qualifiers

Kenya’s Harambee Stars football coach, Engin Firat, has named the travelling team for the 2025 AFCON qualifier matches against Zimbabwe and Namibia, scheduled for September 6 and 10, 2024.

The three Goalkeepers will be Levis Opiyo, Patrick Matasi, and Byrne Omondi as Sharrif Majabe, Joseph Okumu, Johnstone Omurwa, Amos Nondi, Abud Omar, Eric Ouma, Sylvester Owino, and Alphonce Omija make up the list of Defenders. The Midfield area will include Chris Erambo, Richard Odada, Anthony Akumu, Kenneth Muguna, Eric Johanna, Ronney Onyango, Austine Odhiambo, Duke Abuya, and Timothy Ouma.

Further the attacking Forwards will comprise John Avire, Michael Olunga, Jonah Ayunga, Benson Omalla, and Victor Omune. Captain Michael Olunga, Jonah Ayunga, Eric Ouma, Joseph Okumu and Richard Odada are set to join the team in Uganda.

The first match will be an encounter against Zimbabwe on September 6, 2024 in Uganda followed by the second against Namibia on September 10, 2024 in South Africa. The team is expected to depart for Uganda on Monday, September 2, 2024 and travel to South Africa on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
