The Advisor, Political Affairs, Executive Office of the President Karisa Nzai has called for concerted efforts among Coast region leaders to solve perennial land problems.
Speaking in the Maganda area, Miritini ward, Nzai urged coastal leaders to work in tandem to expedite the issuance of land ownership documents to end the squatter problem. “Currently, with political cooperation, we should come together as leaders for the well-being of Mombasa residents. It is our responsibility to ensure that title deeds are issued to the people of Jomvu Kuu Constituency,” stated Nzai.
Nzai assured residents that he would follow up with relevant offices to ensure that the people’s right to land ownership as stipulated in the constitution is not infringed and to end land tussles. “I want to urge Land Officers within the Coastal region to work closely with related offices in Nairobi to ensure that Jomvu Constituency is free from squatters and the rightful owners of land are issued with title deeds,” reiterated Nzai.
Furthermore, he noted that the government is set to offer job opportunities in the Blue Economy sector thus urging the youth to undertake training courses to ensure they are not left behind. “I urge the youth to engage in different training courses to ensure they possess the required qualifications for the various jobs,” he said.
