Coffee trading continues as 18,762 bags were marked sold

Coffee farmers earned farmers Sh 581 million from the sale of 18,762 bags (1,156,930 kilogrammes) of coffee after 3,114 bags were withdrawn from the market,

In sale 29, at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE)  the marketing agents presented 25,180 bags  where 3,114 bags were withdrawn after negotiation on price between the buyers and the growers failed to materialise.

Alliance Berries Limited had presented 5,545 bags out of which only 4,052 bags were confirmed in the sale, as 1,493bags were withdrawn.  In the sale, Kiambu, Minnesota and Murang’a coffee brokers managed to sell all their deliveries to the NCE.

NCE Chief Executive Officer Lisper Ndung’u said New KPCU presented 4,438bags where 3,881 bags were sold as 557 bags were withdrawn “Kirinyaga Slopes had 6,437 bags where the buyers bought 5,858 bags as 579 bags were withdrawn from the market,” said Ndung’u.
