County Public Service Board get training from EACC

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission of Kenya (EACC) conducted a six-day governance training for the Turkana Public Service Board members and a section of the secretariat.

Acting Chair of the Board, Dr Pauline Akiru, said that the training is expected to expose the Board to strategies of promoting and adoption to ethical standards in the public service, and working institutions mandated to promote adherence, to provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.

Dr Akiru noted that the training is coming at a time when the Board is processing forms submitted by the County staff in regard to Declaration of Income, Assets and Liabilities (DIALS), it is expected that the Board is equipped with skills to handle the process more effectively.

During the training, the EACC North Rift Regional Manager, Charles Rasugu, emphasized the need for customization of existing governance policies, for implementation in the County.

Mr. Rasugu urged the Board to be more proactive in combating cases of corruption, through training County Staff.
