Government will continue pumping resources focusing on improving standards of education to help the youth facing the future with courage.
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu said it was prudent for the government to continue facilitating education programmes and enhancing openings in other sectors of the national economy. Speaking at Karega secondary school in Kigumo when he presided over the school’s education day, Machogu said last week the government remitted more than Sh36 billion to learning institutions.
Accompanied by Kigumo MP Joseph Munyoro, and Senator Joe Nyutu, Machogu said in the disbursement of the kitty, the primary section got Sh2.7 billion, the Junior Secondary School Sh14 billion and the Secondary schools Sh18.8 billion.
“The universities got a share of Sh8 billion,” said Machogu. He disclosed that in the disbursement Karega secondary school got Sh3.3 million. The CS further said the government will allocate Sh5 million for construction of a laboratory for use by the students and 40 computers.
” Am delighted that Karega day secondary school in the last year KCSE was ranked the most improved for sending more than 100 students to the universities. In the last three years 368 students have obtained university entry marks,” said the CS lauding the school management for the sterling performance.
Munyoro on his part said through the NG CDF he will continue supporting the educational programmes.” We have been working hand in hand with the schools focusing on making them better for our learners,” said Munyoro. Also in attendance was Murang’a MP Betty Maina
