Genz and millennials implore on fellow peers to halt demonstrations to prevent anarchy

A section of Genz and millennials generations from Maragua constituency have called on their peers all over the country to bring to an end to the weeks long demonstrations to prevent anarchy and breach of the rule of law.

In a statement read on their behalf by Wanjohi Mwangi, they sought to acknowledge that the government has taken steps to address some of their issues through policy changes and initiatives and patience is paramount.

They noted that the weeks-long antigovernment protests have slowly lost relevance as the continuous demonstrations disrupt economic activities and daily life hindering the very progress and stability needed to implement long term solutions. Upholding the rule of law is essential for maintaining order and ensuring that grievances are addressed within a legal framework rather than through ongoing street demonstrations” read part of the statement

“Our fellow Kenyan youths we understand the frustrations and high expectations you have from the govern and while it is committed to initiating various reforms in tender with our demands, it is important to recognize that some reforms as provided for in the constitution take time to implement” he continued

The youngsters appealed for patience and continued engagement in constructive dialogue since meaningful change cannot happen overnight. “Lives have been lost, we urge the government to provide transparent updates on among others, the kware murders and police excesses witnessed during the demonstrations,” they noted

Moreover, they expressed their gratitude to President William Ruto for the recent actions and reforms instituted and urged him to oversee the rebuilding of a transparent, accountable and prosperous Kenya that meets the aspirations of all its citizens especially the younger generation since he symbolizes national unity.

The president is no ordinary civil servant, but the chief executive ad commander in chief of the Kenya defense forces as stipulated in articles 131 and 132 of the constitution of Kenya 2010, Therefore, resignation of the president is not a casual act and involves constitutional procedures underscoring the importance of stability in leadership, how then can we expect our nation to thrive if we undermine its highest office? they posed

They called on the youth to stay united, focused and peaceful as they carry out constructive dialogue and continue to hold our leaders accountable within the framework of the law as the upcoming 2027 elections will present an opportunity to exercise their democratic rights wisely and elect leaders who will truly represent their interests.
