Siaya Governor James Orengo has castigated the political class for being opportunistic, wanting to reap from the efforts of the youth, who have been agitating for positive changes in the country’s governance structure.

Speaking during funeral service for the former nominated MCA Pamela Odeny in Rarieda constituency, Orengo pleaded with President William Ruto to include young people in all the forthcoming processes meant for a better Kenya.

“I am pleading that we give a future to the young people, give them a chance and space to spearhead changes in the nation, they have already made their point, but now politicians want to take the center stage,” he said

The Governor also faulted the ongoing ethnic mobilization by a section of politicians, adding that we must deal with the national question, on whether we as Kenyans want to live together under one constitution, or we just want to share opportunities and jobs.

He added that the President should not be the sole determinant of solutions of pertinent issues, being sought by the youth of this country in recent times.
