Homa Bay county Governor Gladys Wanga has called for measures to bring to justice criminals who infiltrate the Gen Z demos.

The Governor told the youth to stand up against criminals who invade their demonstrations with intentions of destroying property. She expressed concerns that some criminals had hijacked demonstrations with the aim of engaging in crime.

Speaking in Rusinga Island in Suba North Constituency during the launch of an informal settlement improvement project, Wanga expressed concerns that some criminals had occasioned losses to businesses across several parts of the country. The governor said the demonstrations were well intentioned, but the criminals had hijacked them.

“We want our youth to exercise their democratic right of holding peaceful demonstrations. I urge them to be wary of criminals who infiltrate their demonstrations,” Wanga said. The Governor said some criminals end up looting property and molesting women during the demonstrations.

“It is unfortunate that some criminals infiltrated the peaceful demonstrations organized by our youth. Let our youth stand firmly against the criminals during the demonstrations,” Wanga said.
