Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has asked President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua not to allow division among themselves.
Kihika said there was need for the two statesmen to remain united and shun be plunged in division. ” Let them stay united as we Kenyans move and pray for them to support them,” said Kihika.
But Gachagua, when he stood to speak, apologised for coming late for the Akurino national prayers after he ran into problems with his transport arrangement. He said he was helping President Ruto towards uniting the country for the sake of succeeding in initiating a development programme.
The two had attended Akuroni prayers in Nakuru town. ” I also encountered weather problems around the Longonot area for around two hours,” said Gachagua. On unity in the country, the DP described himself as the peacemaker who has interest for a united nation.
” I went to Kericho county and brought the parties together and a lot of work is being done,” said Gachagua. After the Kericho meeting that reconciled the leaders, Gachagua moved to unite Meru leaders, and later to Nakuru where Governor Kihika had differences with senator Tabitha Karanja.
” In my reconciliation system I use the bottom-up approach to unite the country,” said the deputy president.
