Leading restaurant brand Java House on Thursday opened three new branches, in Thika, Kiambu County, Kenol in Murang’a County and at the Kisumu airport as part of the company’s expansion drive following the huge demand of their products.

The Brand’s Group CEO Priscilla Gathungu said the new outlets represent an ongoing strategic direction by the company to bring the brand to the people.    Speaking in Thika during the opening of the first outlet in Kiambu County, Gathungu said they target to have 100 branches across the region before the end of the year, with the three taking their branches to 98.

“In line with our strategy to continue bringing Java brand closer to the consumer, we strongly believe in the power of the counties and continue to spread the brand out of Nairobi,” said Gathungu. She said while the brand is known as the pioneer of coffee among its customers, the company has been working on new product development and will continue to innovate not just in the coffee shop but also as a restaurant.

This, she said, has been occasioned by the low consumption of coffee in the country and thus the need to innovate and grow the demand of other restaurant products. “While the brand is known as a pioneer in coffee, we are working on new product development and continue to innovate not just as a coffee shop but also as a restaurant to bring more products to our customers,” said Gathungu.

The new Java House branch opened in Thika town today October 31,2024.

She said the new branches will employ locals, bringing their total employees to 2,500 adding that it will not only boost businesses in the areas, but also offer a market to local products. Thika Chairman of Business community Alfred Wanyoike welcomed the investor saying it is testament to the growing hospitality industry in the town that is set to become a smart city in the coming years.

While terming it as a landmark to the business fraternity, Wanyoike called on other investors to take cue, saying Thika has what it takes for investment including its infrastructure, man power, availability of raw materials and market for their products. “As Thika eyes to become a smart city, this is testament enough that the hospitality industry in Thika is growing. Other investors should take the opportunity and set up enterprises,” he said.
