Jubilee Party MPs have been directed to floor the Finance Bill once debate takes off in parliament. Party’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni announced that the party has issued a strict whip to its members ahead of the finance bill tabling on Tuesday.
Kioni’s directive mandates that all Jubilee MPs oppose the proposed legislation, a stance that underscores the party’s strong disapproval of the bill’s contents.
The party, he said, those who will go against the directive will meet severe consequences. “We have made it clear to our MPs that their duty is to shoot down this bill. This is a matter of principle and alignment with our party’s stance on fiscal policy,” Kioni stated.
He further cautioned that those who defy the whip will face disciplinary actions, reflecting the party’s commitment to maintaining a cohesive and unified front. The finance bill outlines radical measures to collect taxes from the citizens, a move that has sparked intense debates and division within political circles.
The directive has been given when friendly MPs have been invited for a meeting early tomorrow morning by President William Ruto.
