Residents of Kisumu County continue sending congratulatory messages to Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o following his elevation to the post of ODM party chairman.
Nyakach residents led by Nyakach doyen politician Johanes Atella speaking in Sondu on Monday passed gratitude to Raila Odinga for having faith in Kisumu Governor Prof Nyong’o. “We want to thank our party leader Raila Odinga for his zeal in building the party and growing it to heights of being a significant party in the entire African region and again choosing Governor Nyong’o to lead the party,” stated Atella.
He assured Governor Nyong’o of support of the people of Nyakach in his new assignment. “We the people of Nyakach commit our support to Governor Nyong’o in all his endeavours towards elevating the party and we only have three requests,” noted Atella.
He said the first requests was to foster unity of the people and enlist more people to join the party including steering the popularity of the party. “We advise Prof to work closely and heed advice from Baba towards uniting the ODM fraternity and expanding democracy in the party and to generate new fresh ideas in steering the party forward and enlisting new members,” pointed Atella
“A party shouldn’t dwell entirely on politics. It should be a vehicle towards uplifting the economic wellbeing of residents such as providing assistance on avenues for women in business to access credit, school fees support and fostering grass root development,” he noted saying this would endear the party and attract enormous following.
“We also take the opportunity to wish Raila good luck in his Africa Union assignment and we pledge to support his mission through the various local networks to ensures he clinches the position,” pledged Atella Atella spoke in the company of various Nyakach elders including women and youth representatives
The elders included Onditi Alima and Philip Juma Ochieng’ from Jimo community who said they were extremely excited that Raila scanned his lieutenants and favoured Nyong’o.
