Leaders in Machakos County are calling upon Machakos residents and to maintain peace and avoid divisive politics that hinders development in Ukambani and bring disunity  among them.

They condemned the shareholding model that some leaders use to punish those who did not vote for them which they termed as regressive mentality that inhibits developments. Among leaders who participated in the exercise at the Machakos Social Hall was the Cabinet Secretary for Labor and Social Protection, Dr Alfred Mutua,

Mutua advised leaders to serve the public without favoring communities that voted for them. “No one chooses where they are born and as a leader, we should serve everyone regardless of their tribe and who they voted for,” said CS Mutua.

Mavoko Member of Parliament, Patrick Makau, urged Machakos residents to make decisions on their own without any outside influence. “It is for you to make a decision according to the information you have and with no one’s influence,” said Makau.

The Public participation was also attended by Machakos MP Caleb Mule, Masinga MP Joshua Mwalyo among other leaders
