Man fined Sh. 60,000 for stealing pineapples

A middle aged man was on Tuesday fined Sh60,000 by a Kenol court for pineapple theft. 

This was after the accused Anthony Kariuki admitted before Senior resident magistrate Sheila Nyaga having stolen 20 pineapples from Delmonte company farm on 15th July 2024.

According to the facts of the case presented by the prosecutor, the pineapples were worth Sh. 2000 only. In mitigation, he pleaded for leniency saying he was his family’s sole breadwinner.
