Mandera East MP Hussein Weytan called his constituents to support the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from office through impeachment.

Weytaan told his constituents that for the prosperity of North Eastern Kenya, Gachagua’s impeachment was necessary. Addressing residents during a public participation forum in Mandera, Weytaan stated that there is substantial evidence to support the impeachment motion, which is expected to be tabled in the National Assembly next week.

The Legislator accused Gachagua of divisive tribal politics, alleging that the Deputy President was dividing Kenyans into tribal regions.  Weytaan argued that Gachagua’s rhetoric was alienating pastoralist communities and concentrating power and resources in a single region, excluding others.

“The statements made by the Deputy President are unacceptable to the pastoralist communities. He has targeted leaders from our region, and it’s clear that Kenya, under his leadership, would be a nation for a few shareholders,” Weytaan declared.

During the session, Mandera East residents unanimously supported the impeachment, citing several reasons, including accusations of tribalism against the Deputy President.
