Mathioya Bursary  committee disburses Sh63 million  to needy learners

Mathioya MP Dr Edwin Mugo

Mathioya Constituency Bursary Committee has disbursed Sh63.6 million to facilitate education of the needy students.  During  the disbursement of the kitty to the learners at Mananga secondary  school in Kiru ward, Mathioya MP Dr Edwin Mugo  said the committee has allocated Sh 10,000 to learners enrolled in special schools to ensure they are supported to complete their education.

The lawmaker said education remains an equalizer as the land size has drastically reduced, leaving education as the only gift one can give his children.

“The Committee has  Sh 63,685,451.60 which  will be distributed to our learners in day and boarding secondary schools. Also those in the tertiary  institutions  and special schools will be supported,” said the MP..

He said he will continue to uplift education in the constituency through bursaries and infrastructural development, as well as involving other partners in this journey.

“Through this support I am determined to make Mathioya an academic powerhouse,” said Mugo. He said the learners in day schools will each get Sh 4,000, those in boarding schools Sh 7,000.

“The students in the special schools have been allocated Sh10,000 each and those in tertiary institutions  Sh7,000,” said Mugo.
