More bodies discovered in Shakahola

Investigations into Shakahola  alleged killings have led to the discovery of seven more bodies in Kilifi.

The fifth phase of exhumation of bodies kicked off as the investigations intensified by DCI Homicide Unit discovered more bodies bring all that have been exhumed to 436.  The detectives made it to the graves after a resident led them to the burial site.

In the investigations in Kwa Mugambi village near the homestead of the controversial pastor Paul Makenzie in Shakahola Forest. The exhumation which resumed on Monday June 3, had been suspended in December 2023 to allow pathologists to conduct DNA on the bodies.

Today, Government Chief Pathologist Johansen Oduor said 50 mass graves have been identified in the area full of wildlife. Last week a team of detectives in their surveillance operation in the forest encountered a herd of elephants rooming in the thickets.
