Teso South MP Mary Emase wants leaders across the political divide to back the impeachment motion of against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua when tabled in the national assembly next week.

Addressing teachers during the Teso Branch 18th Annual General Meeting at KNUT Hall in Amagoro, the MP said the prevailing national issue is threatening to tear the country asunder. Emase noted that they are ready to throw “Noah” in the sea to save the sinking ship owing to the fact that the nation is bigger than an individual.

The legislature has vowed to vote “Yes” in a bid to impeach DP Gachangua when the motion to send him packing on the floor of the national assembly on Tuesday next week. Differences between President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua is a worrying trend thus the need to dispense it once and for all,” Emaase said.

She added: ” The country is bigger than us. If marriage fails between a wife and the husband, the matter should be resolved in the bedroom instead of undressing themselves before children.” Emaase said there would be no Kenya if we continue like that, adding that we have to solve the problem. The motion is with the National Assembly Speaker to be tabled on Tuesday to impeach the DP.

” We want the Deputy President for Kenya and not for one region to serve all Kenyans,” the MP said. In order to seek permission from teachers and Kenya National Union of Teachers of drawn from various branches in Western and Union officials led by Executive Secretary Collins Oyuu, Emaase sought for permission whether to vote “Yes” or “No”.

In unison, the teaching fraternity endorsed the MP, who is the vice chair of the budget and appropriation committee to send Gachagua packing by voting “Yes”. Rebellion against the DP heightened recently when 35 MPs allied to Kenya Kwanza vowed they will not support the DP and said they will rally behind Professor Kithure Kindiki.
