Mother Arrested After Daughters’ Bodies Found in Shallow Grave

In a tragic and shocking development, a mother of five children has been arrested following the discovery of her two daughters’ bodies buried in a shallow grave at their home in Nyatembe village Sotik Sub County in Bomet County.

The children, aged 12 and 9, were reportedly buried secretly in a tea plantation next to the family residence. The woman, who had been cohabiting with a man, had been missing for two weeks before neighbours stumbled upon the grave. Homicide detectives, after securing a court order, exhumed the bodies to confirm the grim find.

According to the area chief Lenny Kirui, the police have launched a manhunt for the man suspected to have been linked to the twin murders.

“We are deeply shocked by this discovery. The police have launched a manhunt for the man suspected to be linked to these horrific murders. The woman in custody is currently being held at Sotik Police Station, while the bodies have been taken to Kapkatet Hospital mortuary for further examination.” Explained Kirui
