Narok leaders laud President for nominating Ms. Tuya as Cabinet Secretary

Leaders in Narok County have praised President William Ruto for nominating former Cabinet Secretary in Charge of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change Ms. Soipan Tuya to head the Defense docket.

Narok County Governor Patrick Ntutu in a brief released to various local media houses said the nomination was a testament of the confidence the President has in her capabilities, reflecting her credentials as a highly qualified leader who has ascended through the ranks on merit.

Governor Ntutu noted that the CS nominee has served Narok County as their Women Representative for ten years where she performed her duties with diligence. “The people of Narok and the Maa community at large take immense pride in her achievements as our daughter, as she continues to serve the nation with distinction,” read the presser.

“Her dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to public service stand as undeniable evidence of her exemplary leadership,” noted the governor. He said the Maa community would continue to support and celebrate her accomplishments as she takes on the vital role, furthering the interests of the nation with the same fervor and excellence she has consistently demonstrated.

Maasai Council of Elders’ Chairman Kelena Ole Nchoe also thanked President Ruto for entrusting one of the Maa daughters with such a sensitive docket expressing confidence that she would deliver a credible job as she has done before. Rev. Sam Moonka of Narok Baptist church also took to his social media account to congratulate Ms. Tuya saying it was a great favour to the people of Narok.

Ms. Tuya was the first Narok County Women Representative after she was elected in 2013 on a URP ticket and later re-elected in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket. However, she did not vie for any seat in 2022 general elections as she concentrated in popularizing the UDA-Kenya Kwanza agenda in the grassroots.
