Residents of Kikuyu Constituency Kiambu County are celebrating following the completion of Ndiguini Primary School. The primary school whose construction began in 2019 is a big relief to area children who were forced to trek for many kilometers to schools in Kamangu and Gitutha areas in pursuit of education.
The Construction was funded by the Kikuyu Constituency National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF). Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah said that the completion of the school marks a significant milestone for the residents.
Ichung’wah further said that the school will not only be an educational institution but a symbol of hope and progress for the children and their parents. The MP said the story of Ndiguini Primary School is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared vision and determination.
“The school’s establishment and its ongoing impact underscore the importance of community-driven initiatives in building a better future for all,” the legislator added. Ndiguini Primary School has grown significantly and has fully registered and enrolled over 200 pupils while the deployment of staff by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has enhanced the quality of education provided.
A parent at the school Jane Wanjiku said the school would enhance the academic performance of children as they will utilize the valuable time they spent while walking to distant schools to study. “We used to worry about the long distances our children had to travel to get education. Ndiguini Primary has brought education closer to us and has given our children a chance to learn and grow in a safe environment,” she said.
As the school continues to thrive, the community remains committed to supporting its growth and ensuring that it continues to serve as a beacon of hope and opportunity.
