Members of the public have been called to report government officials who are reluctant in carrying out their duties and compromise delivery of services. Narok Central Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) Ali Shakur said all residents should be treated equally and with dignity at the shortest time possible regardless of their backgrounds.
Shakur spoke today at the Narok Huduma Center, where he represented County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia at the launch of Customer Service Week. The event was attended by various heads of departments and members of the public who had come to seek services at the ‘one-stop -shop’.
The ACC asked the members of the public to take advantage of this customer service week to give their feedback on government services, with an aim of improving service delivery. While praising the staff at the Narok Huduma Center, the ACC said he has got reports from the members of the public on the quick and effective services delivered at the center.
On her part, the Narok Huduma Center Manager Evalyne Katampoi said almost all government services are done at the center and challenged members of the public to visit the center, which is located at the heart of Narok town, to get services of their choice.
She reiterated that their main mandate is to ensure the members of the public enjoy government services as they serve them to the best of their ability without any bias. “We are open to serve all the members of the public regardless of where you come from. Any person with a question regarding government operations is also advised to visit the center for clarifications,” she said.
Among the services offered at the center are; issuance of birth certificates, Maisha number and Maisha card, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) services, obtaining a police abstract, Social Health Authority (SHA) services among others. Customer service week is celebrated annually in the first week of October with this year’s theme being ‘Above and Beyond.’
During the celebrations, the Huduma center employees entertained their customers with songs and dances and treated them with free snacks.
