The National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Lands has commended the State Department for Lands and Physical Planning for its outstanding performance during the 2023/2024 Financial Year.

This was after the Lands Principal Secretary, Gen. Nixon Korir, briefed the committee on the budget implementation for the financial year, revealing that the State Department had collected an impressive Sh12.89 billion in revenue. The meeting, held at Intercontinental House Nairobi, was chaired by North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko.

“I am pleased to report that the Lands and Physical Planning Department has exceeded expectations, issuing over 400,000 title deeds during the 2023/2024 financial year, surpassing the target of 330,000 titles,” PS Korir told the committee. He also noted that an additional 150,000 title deeds are ready for issuance.

During the last financial year, the State Department achieved significant milestones, including the settlement of over 10,000 households. These accomplishments underscore the Department’s commitment to effective land administration.
