Police arrest a serial killer in relation to Kware dumpsite

Police in Nairobi have arrested Collins Jomaisi Khalisia, identified as the prime suspect in the Kware dumpsite killings. Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss Mohammed Amin says the suspect confessed to killing 42 women between 2022 to date and disposing of their bodies in Kware dumpsite in two years.

The investigation into the matter indicates that Khalisia  first killed his wife through strangulation and dumped her body at the Kware dumpsite.

“The suspect alleged that the first victim was his wife, whom he strangled to death, dismembered, and dumped at the site,” said the DCI chief.  The suspect, Amin said, confessed to having lured, killed and disposed of a total of 42 female bodies.

In an operation, Khalisia was ambushed at his Kware home, where the detectives recovered 24 SIM cards, eight smartphones, a hard drive, a laptop, and a machete. The detectives also found in his possession 12 sacks that are similar to the ones used to cover the bodies that were found dumped in the dumpsite.

“We intend to conduct postmortem examinations tomorrow, and we are inviting all stakeholders, civil society, family members, members of the fourth estate because we are not hiding anything,” said Amin.
