Police in Makueni Subcounty have initiated investigations into the killing of two people

Police in Makueni Sub county are investigating an incident whereby a man is suspected to have murdered his wife and then committed suicide in a rented room at Bangladeshi Estate, Kathonzweni sub-county.

The man allegedly clobbered the spouse with a blunt object on the head killing her instantly and then hanged himself. The two bodies were discovered by members of the public who went to the resident following a foul smell from the rented house.

The woman’s body was found motionless on a sofa set, while the husband’s was hanging from the roof of with a rope around his neck. “We have initiated investigations to establish the motive of the killing,” said Makueni Subcounty Criminal Investigation Officer Bernard Rono who confirmed the incident to KNA on Tuesday.

The bodies were moved to Makueni County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation.
