Police officer on the run after stabbing wife following domestic quarrel

A police officer attached to the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU)has gone into hiding after stabbing his wife following a domestic quarrel Monday night. The incident which left the wife Lavin Atieno, 25 hospitalized at Lwak mission hospital took place at Kalandini KENHA residential houses in Rarieda subcounty which are occupied by CIPU officers.

According to Siaya county police commandant Mr Cleti Kimaiyo,the CIPU officer who has only been identified as Mr Keneth picked up a quarrel with his wife and stabbed her using a knife on the left side of the abdomen before disappearing into the darkness.

Kimaiyo said the other officers who reside within the same building responded to the distress calls by Lavin Atieno and quickly rushed her to Lwak mission hospital where she is currently hospitalized.

Mr Kimaiyo revealed that investigation into the incident have since been launched by the area D.C.I.O who have already processed the scene adding that the officer on the run will soon be tracked down.

The county police boss further revealed that the victim Lavin Atieno is in stable condition at Lwak Mission hospital.
