Election
Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o has challenged Kenyans to borrow from South Africa on the best practices of conducting elections through the upper house of Parliament. Nyong’o hailed the just concluded South African elections as a pace setter for Africa at large and challenged Kenyans to borrow lessons on conducting elections from South Africa.
The governor pointed out that the big lesson for Kenyans to borrow from the South African elections is how the country’s ruling party the Africa National Congress (ANC) conducted itself during the elections.
He pointed out that ANC did not get a major win in the upper house in the elections that forced them to set up the government of a national coalition with the opposition.
Nyong’o rallied for the adoption of the system, where it’s the upper house that elects the government that assumes power as the system that will end the election of corrupt leaders into office including eliminating dictatorial leadership.
