A security guard at Cathedral ACK Diocese of Nyahururu is recovering from an attack by robbers who broke into the church premises and stole unknown property. On Sunday night, a robbery occurred at church offices, resulting in the theft of CCTV servers and the injury of one security guard.
Rev. John Ngenye, Cathedral Provost, revealed that DCI officers at Nyahururu have initiated a forensic investigation and are preparing to assess the damage and loss immediately. The provost reported that burglars vandalized CCTV servers and broke into Bishop’s office and cashier office, causing significant damage.
Rev George Obure, a Cathedral priest, broke into a compound, found two guards attacked, tied, and one unconscious, and rushed him to the hospital. He further noted full statement of the breakage that will be issued out by the bishop after assessment of the damage and loss and conclusion of investigation. The theft and breakage occurred after a Sunday ordination service, presided over by Bishop Samson Gachathi, and it is suspected that the perpetrators were after the service offertory.
