Residents of Magoto village in Wasweta II Ward-Suna West Sub County have urged the county government of Migori to complete the construction of a Magoto dispensary, which started in 2014.
The dispensary was a project of a former Member of the County Assembly for Wasweta II that has never been completed since its inception in 2014. Speaking to the media, the residents lamented that it is almost impossible to ferry patients to Migori County Referral Hospital during an emergency due to the poor road network.
John Omolo, a resident of Magoto village now want the Governor and the current area Member of the County Assembly to work together to ensure the stalled dispensary is completed for the benefit of the Wasweta II residents. “The elderly people, pregnant women, children and the disabled people are suffering and have to walk long distances to access Bondo health centre and the Migori County Referral,” decried Otieno.
Jane Akinyi, a resident of the area urged the county government to work together with their area MCA to fast-track the completion of the stalled dispensary and other social amenities like water and electricity. The residents also requested the county government to construct a market at Magoto to enable them to realize the social economic development and improve their livelihoods.
