Rigathi hits out at busy bodies who want to discredit him from the government

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hinted there are junior people in the government attempting to give him instructions. He said there were friends of President William Ruto and bloggers who were seeking to control him, a mission that is doomed to fail.

“My bosses are President Ruto and the Kenyans. I was elected by the people of Kenya. If you are a friend to the President, keep your lane,” he said. At the election time, he said, there was a small group that peddled lies against him, but Ruto picked him for the position of the running mate with instructions to mobilise the votes.

“During the campaign time, I was assigned to mobilise Mt Kenya votes and we got alot of votes, “said Gachagua. Speaking at Kutus Market, during the Kirinyaga county Scholarship for Orphans to Empowerment programme initiated by Kirinyaga MP Njeri Maina, Gachagua  said he was committed to serve Kenyans under the leadership of President Ruto.

” There are politicians who were opposed to Ruto and today there are among those lecturing our government pursuing their interests,” said the DP. He pleaded with leaders to stand united, warning the cabinet secretaries against playing politics but concentrating with their duties.

” The CS’s cannot command the deputy president but should move to their homes and consolidate votes and we missed in 2022,” said Rigathi. In matters pertaining to Mt Kenya unity, he said, the residents have, and in 2022 they voted for President William Ruto.

” We had our own candidate Mwaure and also ignored the political guidance by the retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and settled on President Ruto,” said the deputy president.  He hit at the critics of the Mt Kenya community unity saying the clamour for unity will continue.

“Do not come to the mountain and lecture to the people we know about the course we are following. The more you attack the unity you make the community united,” he said. In the function, he said he has the passion to mentor the youth into leadership.

He said he mentored Mathira MP Erick Wamumbi,  and his Kiambaa Counterpart Kawanjiku  and  committed to help others into the leadership in various levels.  ” I have a track record in mentoring young persons and which I will continue,” said Gachagua.
