Senate Agriculture Committee Chair James Murango

The Senate Agriculture Committee has called for compensation to farmers who have lost money in the fake fertilizer purchases.
Speaking during a fact-finding mission at Talent academy in Embu County where Farmers from Embu and Kirinyaga Counties presented their complaints accompanied by the fake consignments, Committee Chair James Murango and other committee members said the Ministry leadership must take responsibility adding that they have invited the CS, PS and other leaders in the Ministry to shed light on the subsidised fertilizer saga.
Farmers complained that time is not on their side having spent the money they had on the fake fertilizer. They called on the government to FastTrack the compensation whether in terms of money or to the correct fertilizer.
