The Nakuru County Government has started drilling a borehole at Ndoswa area in Marioshoni Ward of Molo at a cost of Sh3 million to provide clean and safe water for more than 2,000 residents.
The development is intented to eradicate the challenges faced by residents who often travel long distances to fetch clean water for domestic use and also previously used shallow wells that were likely to be contaminated by pit latrines.
During the groundbreaking ceremony at the project site, Chief Officer for Water and Sanitation, Engineer Margaret Kinyanjui, said that the new borehole will not only provide reliable access to clean drinking water but also reduce the burden on communities previously dependent on distant water sources.

She stated that once the project is complete in a week’s time, the residents are set to enjoy constant supply of clean water free from any contamination thus urging them to utilize the resource well to better their quality of life. Additionally, she said given that there will be a continuous supply of water, the administration is glad that the locals will have time to attend to other economic matters hence greatly improving their livelihoods.
Kinyanjui also inspected other ongoing water projects in the area, including the Oinoptich and Digital water projects assuring the local residents of the County Government’s commitment to delivering high-quality and timely completion of these vital infrastructure projects.
Present at the event were Assistant Sub County Water Officer, Eng. Angela Watetu and local Members of the County Assembly (MCA’s) representatives.
