After the hitches on logistics, tea growers across Mt Kenya region affiliated to 35 factories are electing their directors.
Majority of the polling centres opened at 7 am with hundreds of farmers streaming in to cast their votes as they recounted the losses they incurred on Friday when the election failed to take off.
In Ngere, Nduti, Makomboki, Rukuriri, Githambo, Njunu, Gatunguru, Kiru, Gacharage, Mununga and Ndima reports indicate the voters turned out to cast their votes.
At Ngere Tea Factory, the Vice Chairman James Githinji said the centres opened on time.
“We are now calling on farmers to turn up in large numbers to elect their representatives,” said Mr Githinji.
On Friday, the farmers counted losses after they camped at the polling centres as the IEBC failed to deliver the voting materials.
