Three policemen in Kitengela, Kajiado county who have been under investigations of trafficking elephants tusks have been arrested.

The trio and a civilian who were allegedly found in possession of elephant tusks worth Sh2.5 million. In a dramatic chase, the suspects were cornered in Kitengela town a few meters from the police station along the Nairobi-Namanga road.T

The suspects were trailed from Eldoret to Nairobi, and later to Kitengela where they were arrested. Isinya Police boss Patric Manyasi said they were arrested by Kenya Wildlife Services rangers after being on their surveillance radar.

Manyasi said two pistols and 30 bullets were also recovered from the suspects.
