Two people dead, seven injured in Narok accident

The wreck of a matatu that was involved in an accident on Mai-Mahiu Narok road being towed to Narok Police Station.

Two people died while seven others suffered injuries in a road accident that occurred on Mai Mahiu -Narok Road near Ole Tipis Girls Secondary School in Narok. Confirming the incident, Narok Central Sub- County Commandant, John Momanyi, said the accident involved an excavator and a matatu, both traveling towards Narok town from Mai Mahiu side.

Momanyi said two people lost their lives with one dying on the spot, while the other eight suffered serious injuries and were taken to Cottage Hospital, where one of them died while receiving medical attention.

Momanyi cautions drivers over reckless driving, especially during this rainy season and urged them to be careful and observe the road safety measures. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Narok County Referral morgue while the vehicle was towed to Narok Police Station yard, pending inspection.
