Uasin Gishu County has received a drug consignment worth Sh 37 million from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA). The drugs, designated for health facilities across all 138 centers in the six sub-counties, were received and flagged off by governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim at the county headquarters.
The Governor emphasized that the consignment is both timely and a significant boost to the residents of Uasin Gishu. Notably, all the drugs are being sent directly to health facilities, bypassing the initial drug store for immediate distribution and use.
“We have received assorted drugs worth Sh37 million, and they will go straight to our health facilities. This move is critical in enhancing the health of our residents,” said Dr. Chelilim.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens. In line with this commitment, the county is set to launch drones’ technology on health during the official commissioning of the Mama Rachel Ruto West Maternity Hospital by the country’s First Lady, Rachel Ruto.
“This is a listening and caring administration that takes the lives of our residents with the seriousness they deserve. It is the leadership they voted for,” added the governor.
