UDA Party Completes Ward Level Elections Successfully in Narok County

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has successfully completed ward level elections and is now waiting to move to sub county level on May 25. Speaking to the media in Narok, the team led by Governor Patrick Ntutu praised the party national election board for the preparedness they have shown during the party primaries conducted on May 18, 2024 in ward level.

“We thanked the national elections board for the effort they have shown during the party primaries. The required materials have reached the polling stations on time,” said Ntutu

Woman representative Rebecca Tonkei who is also the UDA Party Disputes Resolution Committee Chairperson, said that the chairman at the county level should be the governor as it is at the national level, whereby the president is the party leader.

“As team Ntutu, we said it should have been the same as national level, whereby the president is our party leader. And it should be the same in the county, the governor should be our chairman,” said Tonkei. While reading the tabulated results from his team, Narok County Majority Leader Sonkoi Lemein said the concluded ward congress election has shown overwhelming support for team Ntutu.

“We are delighted to announce that team Ntutu emerged victorious, securing a decisive win with 516 delegates against 84 delegates garnered by the other Team” said Lemein Lemein added that the 516 delegates for team Ntutu represent 86%, compared to 14% for the other team led by Gabriel Tongoyo, Narok West Member of Parliament.

Lemein said he UDA elections marked a significant milestone in the political landscape as the UDA grassroots elections.

According to the team led by Ntutu, the figures read per sub counties pitting Team Ntutu against team Tongoyo respectively were; Narok East 68 delegates against 12 delegates, Narok West 71 against 9, Narok North 92 against 28, Narok South 114 against 6, Emurua Dikir 71 against 2 and Kilgoris 100 against 20 delegates.
