Update: Four more bodies recovered from Kware dumpsite

Four more bodies have been recovered from the Kware dumpsite in the Mukuru kwa Njenga slums.

President William Ruto has ordered for investigations directing the authorities to expedite probe into the bodies recovered from Kware dumpsite. “Those found liable will face the full wrath of the law,” said the head of state.

Elsewhere, Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) in a statement said the bodies were mutilated, similar to those recovered on Friday. According to the KHRC, eight bodies were retrieved from the pit yesterday. Today’s additional discoveries bring the number to at least twelve, with residents fearing there could be more.

More mutilated bodies have been recovered from a quarry pit in Mukuru, Embakasi South,” read a post by the Commission on X. In their report yesterday, detectives noted that six bodies retrieved from the Kware dumpsite were all female. These six bodies were severely mutilated and in various stages of decomposition.
