The United States Agency for International Development, through the Momentum Country and Global Leadership (MCGL), has donated a theatre lamp to Vihiga County Referral Hospital.

A perioperative nurse at the hospital Bernice Wafubwa said the lamp has been installed at the maternity theatre where Caesarean operations take place. Wafubwa stated that the assistance was timely as they had been using portable unreliable lamps noting the donated lamp would enable the surgeries to be done smoothly.

The nurse appealed to the MCGL to consider helping them with the operating table as the one in use was in a pathetic state. She appreciated the support of the development partners that aimed at sustainably improving the accessibility and quality of health services to the population.
